Travelling a lot and inhabiting very little

The body of someone who changes apartments every month and sleeps lightly in all of them.

The digital nomad moves her laptop with more loyalty than her pelvis. Every Airbnb is a different bed, a pillow that is not hers, and a sleep that wakes at any new sound. The body takes considerably longer than check-in to believe it has arrived.

Inhabiting is not owning a plant or hanging something on a wall. It is repeating a gesture, the same breakfast, the same pavement, the same corner at the same hour, until the nervous system stops mentally packing.
